While Alivest Software LLC is incorporated in the USA, its main facilities are located in Kiev (the capital of Ukraine, one of the Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union), in Kirovohrad (the geographical centre of Ukraine, about 150 miles South-East of Kiev) and in Donetsk (the big industrial city in the Eastern Ukraine).

The population of Kiev exceeds 2.5 million and the city has a relatively modern communication and transportation structure. Kirovohrad and Donetsk are also rather big cities. Meanwhile, the local costs of living and production are much lower than in the West. For example, a month's salary of a programmer in the Ukraine varies from 400 to 2500 USD per month and is remarkably less than the salary of a programmer in the USA (USD 5000-8000) or even in India (USD 1500-4000). At the same time a programmer's average salary exceeds the average salary in Ukraine (currently about USD 300).

A technical education is basically free in Ukraine, with a very high standard maintained.
